"Everyday Artistry: Stories of Quilts and their Makers"

Today we continued our "Summer School" guest speaker series with Diana Bell-Kite who is an associate curator at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh.  We enjoyed her visit with us as she shared her stories about North Carolina and its quilts and the women who made them.  The histories of the quilts she shared were made roughly in the time frame of about 1865-1965 by various women throughout the state of North Carolina.  She explored the many fabrics used to create the quilts and the stories they memorialize.
